Autumn Series - Earthen Elegance

Not very often do I find myself wandering in the North Downs, particularly in Nan Amlug area. It's normally a rather open, visually unremarkable zone. Lots of incredibly tall trees, high grass, extensive patches of barren land...it feels like it's lacking that special something. Perhaps, it's the Nan Amlug's proximity to Angmar that makes it so. But, as the sun sets, the entire area springs to life. The dull colors of landscape come to life. The haze that descends makes the sky seem like it's on fire. There's something about dusk in this zone and the warmer hues that brings out the best of the North Downs. I find myself stopping and enjoying what I see within this five minute window...and it's times like this I feel oddly inspired. It was my hope that I could capture a portion of this scene in an outfit.

Strangely enough, this outfit served a dual purpose. A few weeks ago, I had the wonderful pleasure of being a judge in the Rippling Manes and Tailfeathers Event on Gladden. Between the fashion show and Rohan Charge, I had my hands full cycling through my wardrobe and clearing out old outfits! I actually put a lot of effort into matching steeds and outfits, as part of the fashion show included steed and player outfit coordination. Even though I couldn't enter the contest, it didn't stop me from making my own outfits to display! Seven outfits for seven steeds (I can see a musical parody on the way...) and perhaps, I will post them all for you. I recycled a couple of old outfits already on this blog for them, but they certainly look refreshed on a steed!

I've seen this particular dress used everywhere I travel on the server. However, this is something that I really  wanted to take and make my own. This was one of the brand new compilations I put together to compliment the Harvest-brew Steed for the Rohan Charge. It turns out that this also goes well with the current Autumn theme! Doesn't this make you think of the end of the season between the golds and browns? It certainly does for me : )

On another note, it saddens me to announce that the Halloween Contest I had planned was cancelled. I only had one submission. It's not much of a contest when only one person participates. However, that's not going to stop me from attempting an event for the Yule Season. I might even open it up to the server!
