Bundled Expeditionary

Thankfully, having drafted several blog entries is a blessing in disguise. LOTRO's move to the new data center on Monday, January 11th, has made it near impossible for me to play the game. I've experienced, along with friends, long stretches of lag, with latency as high as 1200 ms and loss reaching an upwards of 15% nearly every night this week. Until something gets done, particularly the hotfix Frelorn casually mentioned on the forums late Monday night, I won't be able to play. I'll stop in and try again sometime next week, when I have my next chance to play. If anything good came of this week, it was being able to snag the new Yule Festival cosmetics before my client crashed.

While we're on the topic of the Yule Festival, can you believe this is the sixth one I've experienced? It was the first of the seasonal events I attended after I picked up LOTRO in 2010. I remember acquiring the entire "Snow-dusted" set and thinking how awesome it looked. I wore those cosmetics briefly, then they vanished into the abyssal depths of my wardrobe for nearly five years. Seldom have I brought old skins (pre-2011) back to the spotlight, but with the Yule Festival ending this week and the encroaching cold weather beginning, I thought it was appropriate to give the Snow-dusted Travelling Robe some love. If anyone has found a need to dress their character warmly, please, feel free to give this a try.

Before I wrap up this week's post, I was contacted by a fellow blogger wishing to exchange links. If you have a chance, stop by LOTRO Dresser and say hello to Artphilia. Her cosmetic blog has been around for a little while. There may not be much there yet, but she does have a love for hobbits!

Shoulders: Fated Westfold Campaign Shoulders (Turquoise, T7 Tailor recipe)
Chest: Snow-dusted Travelling Robe (Sienna, Yule Festival)
Hands: Snow-dusted Travelling Gloves (White, Yule Festival)
Feet: Ceremonial Thrill-seeker's Boots (Black, skirm camp cosmetics vendor - Rift medium armour)

Weapon: Siveleth (Staff, pre-50 world drop)**
Off-hand: Exceptional Sword of the Swift and Strong (Sword, lootbox reward)***

**Skin also available as a Moria quest reward, Hamall's Walking Stick, from Remembering the Old Songs at Jazârgund.
***Any variation of the Sword of Swift and Strong from the lootboxes will do.

  1. Thanks so much for pluggin my blog, Nathrien! <3
The new outfit is once again beautiful! I am in a mood for winter outfits myself and have been trying out a lot lately. But I too did experience major downtimes, hotfixes, lags and so on (at all of my days off!). Hopefully the servers will run smoothly soon. Just signed up (again) for a premium account. *sigh*

    1. Anytime! Always willing to spread the word about fellow LOTRO bloggers. And thanks for stopping by to check out this week's outfit. I'm sure you'll be seeing more cold weather creations as the winter continues. I really want to try my hand at the latest Yule Festival shoulders and see what they can do!

And yeah, it's day six of not being able to play for me. I actually cancelled my sub because I don't know when this whole mess will get fixed. Why pay if you can't play? That's how I see it :)

  2. I love this dress but I sorely wish I could remove the vest over the dress!
