Of Stars and Signs
Don't worry. Unlike my last outfit post, which somewhat introduces this outfit, I'm not going to drop another massive wall of text. Last thing I need, or anyone else for that matter, is to become a broken record and recount the lengthy and painstaking origin of this outfit. (If you missed it, you can find that tale here.) Needless to say, I was excited to add half the pieces here to my collection once I finally got my hands on them! Next on my list is the Faramir's Faithful set, but that requires one hundred and twenty Morgul Crests to collect. In my two years of killing warbands, I only have nine or ten of them! (Maybe I can start convincing kinnies to do T2C Osgiliath or Pelennor?)
I'm starting to get off topic, so it's back to the outfit at hand!
The robe at the center of this ensemble, the Jacket of Osgiliath's Fury, is quite beautiful, though difficult to use cosmetically. The sleeves, in their rich burgundy glory, don't dye with the rest of it. That, sadly, limits the number of colors that look best. I'd recommend using bolder analagous colors, like reds, pinks, and purples. Muted colors work too, as well as black. When I look at this robe, I can imagine it being worn by Gondorian nobility. Hence the suggestion for richer, more saturated colors. At the same time, seeing all of the embroidered designs in the chest and the star-like studs, I can also envision this as a ceremonial piece. Perhaps something once worn atop the Dome of Stars, where the palantir once resided before being lost to the Anduin during the Kin-strife.
Sometimes the model's class directly affects my interpretations of the outfit. Having this on my Rune-keeper, as opposed to my Lore-master, which was the original plan, I actually saw this as some sort of seer's attire. It makes sense, in terms of a Rune-keeper. The stars on the robe, gloves, and circlet remind me of the stars and constellations in the sky, especially Menelmacar, the constellation set as a forewarning of the Last Battle. And when taking into consideration the innate foreshadowing and prophetic abilities of the class, it makes sense. And if this were on my Lore-master, I envision a Gondorian scholar of considerable repute, spending most of her time in the Houses of Lore.

**Lore-masters, Rune-keepers, and Minstrels all share the same skins for the scalable Osgiliath class armor.
***If you missed the event, you can also commonly find these cloaks on the AH. Or, if memory serves, you can ask a friend that's played prior to August 9, 2015 to roll an alt, level it to 10, and give you the cloak that appears in the mailbox.
