Sentinel of the Tomb Hills

My Beorning has certainly come to wear the most atypical of outfits since I made her. At first, I wasn't sure what her particular style would be. Whatever new combination of clothing I liked I had her wear. Long before I stuck to leathery wildnerness-themed gear, I tried hauberks, robes, heavy armor, and dresses. This particular ensemble was one of the earliest she'd worn...and one I hadn't replaced yet. Considering this used a combination of pieces scattered across Eriador, I wasn't exactly sure what image this would portray.

Luckily, after I brought my Beorning out of the intro, I skipped Archet and Combe and brought her questing in Ered Luin. If I hadn't made that decision, I may have scrapped this outfit. While working my way through the Low Lands and into Haudh Lin, I noticed that the coloration and style matched the landscape. I stopped in Emyn Hoedh, after which the outfit was named (Emyn Hoedh being Sindarin for "Tomb Hills"), and tried to develop a story. I decided this would be something worn by a person guarding, preserving, and honoring both the relics and tombs of heroes long buried there...or something like that. I never recorded the background story, as this was made so long ago, but I think that short description captured the story's essence.

This is another of my creations that I've felt to be on the fence. I wasn't disappointed with how it looked, but I wasn't excited either. After all, this blog is for ideas that the community can take and mold into something to personally wear in LOTRO!

  1. I actually really like this one - the first picture in particular was a great choice, and the shoulders are really accented! And it's crazy how even for me, it's my beorning toon with the weirder outfits; does that say something about the race/class perhaps? Amazing stuff as always!

    1. Thanks! I know what you mean about the Beorning. I still try the strangest combination of cosmetic gear on her, hoping to find something that fits her. But now that she's more established, it's gotten more difficult! And as for those shoulders, they're definitely unique. No other has a similar design, multiple guards, and a high-rise bulkiness. It was an odd choice, but I think it works here!
