Until this year, I never had any particular use or interest in the Autumn Nights gear. No matter what I used or what I combined with anything out of the set, I simply could not get those pieces to jive. I was determined this year, and there was a single piece that made such an outfit possible--the crafted light armor Wildermore shoulders. I snagged that guild recipe recently and have been combining it with as many other cosmetics as possible! And I never realized the array of Autumn colors in the leaf pattern of the cloak until I dyed it black.
Orange and black are definitely staple colors of Halloween, and it's a color scheme I've been trying to honor since October of 2010. Pure orange is one of those colors that rarely works in an piece with a non-white base color. Usually, orange dyes will get you warm shades of brown somewhere between the nostalgic crayola colors bittersweet and sepia. I don't use the color too often, but if anybody is interested in using it, check out The Starry Mantle and Cosmetic LOTRO for great uses of the color. For your convenience, the links already include the "orange tag".
With the Harvestmath Festival in progress, I thought it would be nice to display some of the cosmetics earned though participating in the quests in outfits. If you're not a festival quest goer or you get tired of running the Haunted Burrow over and over, don't forget you can also trade your Inn League and Ale Association tokens for any of the festival tokens. It's a good bit of info to remember when you need to break up the monotony or squeeze in some extra festival currency!
Being on vacation this week has left me with a substantial amount of free time. Oddly enough, inspiration hit hard and I do mean HARD. I've created enough outfits (and finished some backlogged ones) to post once a week for a while. That's what happens when all the creative energy built up between April and September explodes in a frenzy of color and fabric! I can ease up on the cosmetics and posting deadlines I've set for myself...but that's not going to stop me from drafting more along the way!
