Being the cosmetic packrat I am, I had to use one of my extra character slots and build a new character. Even though a new character meant more storage, it also meant seven more outfits to create. And so I built one using a few pieces that were collecting dust and created a sensible traveler's outfit for a fresh Lore-master. It's a rather unassuming compilation. Plenty of earthy colors and a minimal amount of designs that prevented it from looking gaudy. I felt like I was blending in with the townsfolk, even though these pieces seemed a fashionable step higher by comparison.
I had been performing a few freelance searches on the LOTRO forums last night and came across a particular thread in the player suggestions subforum, requesting simplistic and slightly adorned clothing. Simple blouses, trousers, ankle-length skirts, and several other examples were presented. I would completely support this. Outfits would truly look casual if this happens. I would even love to see dresses break down into tops and bottoms, allowing for further customization. I've been on the hunt for simple clothing myself. There have always been simple pieces in the game, but options are quite limited for mixing and matching...too many onesies, for a lack of a better term.
This compilation is the simplest that I've been without feeling like I've lost more than half of my cosmetic options.
Slowly, but surely, I've been collecting the Ost Dunhoth gear found at Harndirion over the past year. Ever since Update 10, the gear has been barterable with marks and medallions, no longer requiring players to run the Ost Dunhoth raid for special tokens. However, if you still have those tokens in your inventory, you can still barter with them. The majority of that gear has made some wonderful outfits possible across several blogs. If you're level 60+, feel free to give those pieces a try!
Shoulders: Shoulder Pads of Resolve (Umber, any Ox-clan Camp light armor class vendor)
Back: Cloak of the Unwelcome Guest (Turquoise, Great River quest reward)
Chest: Lesser Voice of the West Robe (Turquoise, Ost Dunhoth Minstrel class medallion barter)
Legs: Lesser Voice of the West Trousers (Turquoise, Ost Dunhoth Minstrel class medallion barter)
Feet: Ceremonial Boots of the Learned (Umber, Helegrod cosmetic skirm camp vendor)
I really do love those boots. They are stylish and manly at the same time.
ReplyDeleteI love these as well :) We need more variety in cloth/leather boots in the game. I do enjoy the heavy armor boots, but most only look good when paired with heavy armor.
