It wasn't until the release of the Wildermore on Bullroarer that I was able to find an appearance worthy of a Thane. After all, my captain had recently completed building Hytbold and the closing quest chain to go with it. It's not often I'm in a role-playing mood, but walking around with the title "Thane of Hytbold" without the proper accompaniment felt wrong. Lo, and behold! Here came the medium Wildermore Armour recipes, providing me with an elegant, gold-trimmed tunic dyeable in the most heavenly ways! Even the Wildermore Pauldrons are lovely!
Believe it or not, with the exception of the Helm's Deep epics, I haven't truly ventured into Wildermore on a live server yet. I don't know if I'm feeling lazy or if it's truly not worth questing in a zone that offered little for my characters when 85 was the cap. Anyway, versus grinding the reputation needed to purchase the gear that appeals to me, I've purchased and used the guild recipes instead. Granted they have a one week cooldown, but I'll never have to grind the landscape tokens.
For the longest time, I ignored the T8 crafted gear due to various issues that haven't been addressed since the release of Riders of Rohan. Examples range from terrible clipping, to horrific body conformity, and to female legs being made to look like, as Hymne from Cosmetic LOTRO once described it, overcooked spaghetti. Even the barterable gear from the Eastemnet armor vendor was overly generic. Each armor class used the same skin for each set, save for an emblem on the chest and shoulders that denoted the region to which an armor piece belonged. But, I've been giving the Rohan landscape and crafted gear the benefit of the doubt and slowly integrating them into outfits.
Head: Vibrant Eastemnet Campaign Circlet (Indigo, T8 Tailor recipe)
Shoulders: Enduring Wildermore Pauldrons of Combat (Indigo, T8 Wildermore Tailor recipe)
Chest: Enduring Wildermore Armour of Combat (Indigo, T8 Wildermore Tailor recipe)
Hands: Gloves of the Hytbold Healer (Indigo, Hytbold Captain vendor)**
Feet: Ceremonial Town-saver's Boots (Burgundy, Rift cosmetic skirmish vendor)
The contrast between the deep indigo of the armour and the red hair of your character is very nice :) and the pose of the last screenshot is so funny, celebrating being a new Thane with a good pint! /cheer!

I had almost used the Steely Dawn armor set as the base for this uniform, despite being undyeable. But, I found this outfit to be more about atmosphere and less about the silver and teal green. Luckily, the crafted medium Wildermore armor pieces shared the same exact skins as the Steely Dawn ones. Indigo has always been a color that looks good on my Captain...and that's something I haven't quite been able to explain. Cosmetic mystery I guess :)
DeleteAnd yes, why not celebrate becoming a Thane with a good pint and good company! : )
