Musical Series - Joyous Bagpiper

At Ales and Tales Old Winyards will play
Come and dance to the song
BBB will crash the party
Laughing and singing along

Landroval, though I rarely get a chance to visit, is my home away from home. The culture on that server is rich beyond compare. The Role-Playing community is well-established and incredibly fun to simply observe, even if it's not your proverbial cup of tea. Among the RP'ers and the many kins, heck anywhere you go on the server, delve deep into the wondrous cosmetic realm of LOTRO. Each outfit has its own story and its own personality. Bands are color coordinated, even if they don't have access to the same outfit. Speaking of bands, the productions of the Lonely Mountain Band on Landroval have inspired me to create some sort of concert series, whether it's an outfit for band or something that I feel goes well with a particular instrument.

Being stationed on Gladden, one of the quieter servers, I don't often hear about community events. They're actually quite rare. The Rippling Manes and Tailfeathers event in October was the first I've seen in the past year. Even the bands and solo musicians have been practically nonexistent  If anything, I've seen someone playing music outside of the Prancing Pony alone and often without an audience. It's been another goal of mine to help establish some sort of fun-loving community outside of instance grinding. I've had ideas for horse races, more cosmetic contests, sparring tournaments, band competitions, scavenger hunts, and more, but I haven't had the means or the bodies to implement them yet! I sometimes wonder what life would have been like had I started on Landroval : )

I hope that those reading this have enjoyed this costume. I don't know how many of you have seen or are familiar with Elrond's Exquisite Cloak or the other similar looking rewards from the Volume One epic quest line, but I've been itching to put that cloak to good use, particularly with any of the Summer Tunics or Dresses. However, the hood didn't quite look right...and neither am I a fan of the hooded cloaks. I love seeing either a character's entire face or a cosmetic piece that actually takes up the head slot, but I digress. I had been deeding in Eregion when a mob dropped a hoodless version! Can you believe how excited I was!? To top the outfit off, I had to use the versatile Shoulders of the Mighty Verse again! I don't think I'll ever overuse those shoulders.

Expect to see more musically centered outfits in the future!

Head: Plumed Hat (Crimson, starter quest reward)
Shoulders: Shoulders of the Mighty Verse (Crimson, Moria Minstrel class vendor)
Back: Trimmed Cloak (Red, world drop or chest drop from the level 50 Rift raid)
Chest: Long-sleeved Summer Tunic and Trousers (White, Lithe Festival)
Instrument: Basic Bagpipes

  1. Very lovely, and that cloak!! That has me in awe! I've never seen Elrond's cloak without the hood anywhere before, that is absolutely a fantastic lucky drop! Congrats!

  2. Nicely done, matching the warm, almost reddish brown of the tunic to the other pieces! Great cloak, and it must be very rare. I don't believe I've ever seen it in its hoodless version either. I will definitely be keeping an eye on the auction house, but if that fails I do have a small army of alts poised to rampage through Eregion! :P

  3. I really like this. The colors are matched nicely and it has a really nice feel to it. I didn't even know they made a hoodless version of this cloak. I want!

  4. Thank you everybody :) I was informed today that this cloak can also drop from the chests in the Rift raid (the level 50 12-man). I don't know if this means there's a coding error in the game, but I thought I should offer an alternative to the three of you, as well as anybody else who is trying to find it.

  5. I, too, am jealous of that cloak. I have Elrond's handmedown rolling in some vault somewhere, but I haven't used it in over a year.

As for what your life would be like on Landroval--busy! Very busy! ;)
