Westfold Scout - Cirilyn of Gladden

I wish it hadn't taken so long to use the walnut brown dye for the first time. Helm's Deep has been out for five months at this point, and it was the first new dye since the "In Their Absence" instances were released, I believe. I'd have to say that I've fallen in love with it. If you haven't had the chance to use it, I'd describe it as a color falling between umber and black on LOTRO's scale, making it a wonderfully deep and dark brown. Often times I've found sienna to be too warm and umber not dark enough for my purposes. Due to that, black became a common fallback color, especially for boots. Now I have the perfect intermediary color!

It's been some time since I've donned a set of heavy armor on any of my characters. I've never been terribly fond of chainmail or plate, but I've always been fond of the flexible materials, such as cloth and leather. Helm's Deep, however, brought some gorgeous sets of crafted heavy armor for levels 90 and 95. Both are similar in design and ornamentation, but the 95 set has a far more ceremonial appearance. The gold trim in the chestpiece is difficult to duplicate using gear outside of the heavy crafted sets. Gear from Ost Dunhoth and Draigoch are probably the closest you can get...but that's if you choose to hunt for gear that color.

In my last post, I had mentioned downloading the high res client. This has given me the opportunity to revisit cosmetics I've normally overlooked. There were a large number of pieces that appeared blurred or cloudy even at ultra high settings on the standard client. I could tell that some of them were supposed to be beautiful pieces, like any of the leg gear from the Moria cosmetic vendor or from DN. With a better client and higher visual quality, I'll be sifting through that gear and seeing if I can incorporate them into these final outfits.
