Silver Dawn

This outfit was actually inspired by Hymne of Cosmetic LOTRO. Having seen her use the Jacket of the Wild Hills in this outfit, I felt the desire to do the same. Originally, I started with a similar color scheme as my base, keeping the jacket lórien gold to match the braided celtic knot pattern.  However, no matter what I did, I couldn't get anything to match the chest very well. Days of trying new skins, only to run into the same exact problem--serious clipping. Not just movement clipping, but stationary clipping. The Jacket of the Wilds is one of the bulkier pieces and doesn't exactly sit skin-tight on the body. It was so frustrating that I almost tossed in the proverbial towel and moved on.

After a couple of days, I swapped the jacket dye to moria silver. It worked and, with a cooler color scheme, unconventional pieces started falling into place. For the first time, I used the Theodred's Riders reputation recipes for the gloves and boots. (Honestly, I hadn't been a fan of the Westfold tier recipes when Isengard was the current endgame years ago. Maybe this will change my mind?)  And then I added the Doomfold-tier shoulders, with it's almost belegaer blue trim, for balance. The metal plates of the chestpiece weren't quite silver and neither were they quite light blue, so those shoulders worked out very well. I wanted a plain cloak, as the outfit felt incomplete, but none of the ones I owned quite matched when dyed either lórien gold or shire peach. I settled for one of the Doomfold cloaks. Even though a somewhat noisy design, the dyes gave me the color I needed.

Here's a hint as to what's in Material Middle-earth's future. I was so obsessed with the Jacket of the Wild Hills that I went back and bartered for the Jacket of the Sunset Hills. On one hand, I had an outfit that resembled a silvery dawn, at least in color, and one that could resemble a purple dusk. That jacket proved to be a larger thorn in my side that this one here, but I managed to complete something I felt acceptable. That outfit will be posted in two weeks!
